The Six Wives of Henry VIII
2001
Costume seen on Michelle Abrahams as Kathryn Howard
The Tudors
2007
Costume seen on Maria Doyle Kennedy as Katharine of Aragon
This headdress has been seen in both the David Starkey Documentary The Six Wives of Henry VIII and in the first season of The Tudors. If I had to take a guess, I would say that this headdress originated from the 1998 production of Elizabeth. There were a few unused garments from that production that never made their way to film, and the headdress also bears a striking resemblance to a black one that was actually used in the film, which leads one to believe that perhaps a colour change was requested, causing the black headdress to be created and the brown one to never be used.
