This striped gown, which originated with Emma has been used several more times on television in Wives and Daughters, Byron, Miss Austen Regrets, and most recently in the BBC's Emma.

Interestingly enough, the same fabric (but not the same dress) appears to have been used in another gown seen in on Tess in the 2008 Tess of the D'Urbervilles as well as on another gown in the mini-series John Adams. Since Angels Costumiers did the costumes for the 1996 Emma, and John Adams, as well as many various BBC mini-series, it may simply be the fact that they have a bolt of this fabric that has been used three times!

Fabric on Diane Kruger as Anna Holtz in Copying Beethoven in 2006

Fabric on Gemma Arterton as Tess in Tess of the D'Urbervilles in 2008

Fabric seen in Laura Linney as Abigail Adams in John Adams in 2008
