The Bretts: Grand Finale
1987
Costume seen on Sally Cookson as Perdita Brett (playing Cinderella)
Clarissa
1991
Costume seen on an extra as singer
This Georgian era gown was used in both The Bretts and in Clarissa. The interesting thing to note about this gown, is that despite being in the 18th century style, both times it appears as a costume. Even when the production is supposed to take place in the 18th century, the gown is still clearly shown as the 18th century version of a costume. This is a wonderful example between costuming a period, and costuming a period's idea of a 'costume.' The difference isn't vast, but it is there, and is interesting to note.
