This pretty little gown orginated in the 1969 film Anne of the Thousand Days. Since then, it has been used several times, always for either the Princess Elizabeth or the Princess Mary. In 2000, for a documentary on Elizabeth, the green undersleeves and petticoat seem to have been replaced with blue ones.
You can see from the detailing on the collar that the dress is still in remarkably good contion, though there are several seed pearls missing that need to be replaced. |
