This headdress has been seen in both the David Starkey Documentary The Six Wives of Henry VIII and in the first season of The Tudors. If I had to take a guess, I would say that this headdress originated from the 1998 production of Elizabeth. There were a few unused garments from that production that never made their way to film, and the headdress also bears a striking resemblance to a black one that was actually used in the film, which leads one to believe that perhaps a colour change was requested, causing the black headdress to be created and the brown one to never be used. |
