This chair has been used three times over the years in various productions. It went up for auction in the 20th Century Fox Prop auction of 1971. The auction catalog describes it as:
William and Mary style walnut wing chair with a scrolling frame and upholstered in early eighteenth century petit point.
The chair was seen in the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard in Norma Desmond’s large, ornate mansion. The chair was recovered in a new fabric and trim, and the legs seem to have been shortened in order to add castors. The chair appears a second time in the 1952 My Cousin Rachel, and finally in the 1967 Doctor Doolittle.
