Strike while the Iron is Hot

October 14, 2025

With the release of Taylor Swift’s newest album, we find with it several new costumes – two of which I have documented for you here today. I say I have documented them, but really….you…you my dear readers have documented them. I have merely clicked a few buttons, made minor edits and adjustments to the wonderful items you take the time to research and submit.

If all has gone well, I will be on a plane as you read this. But with the Government shutdown in the United States, who really knows? Prayers for my safe travels and return would be greatly appreciated.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

  1. Wishing you a good and safe trip!
I just saw the trailer for a new Robin Hood show coming in November, might have some costumes to find in it, especially on extras. Though I have no idea if it will be available in my country (I didn’t even know MGM+ existed).
Also we have a date for Bridgerton season 4! I’d love to find some masquerade themed sightings before that. Like masks.

    • I have the Robin Hood show saved in my TVTime app to not forget about it. Not sure whether we’ll get it in Germany and if, which of the maaany streaming services it will be on either. Can’t wait for Bridgerton either. Masks could be really interesting. I’m personally still waiting for the Mozart/Mozart trailer to drop, as it is supposed to premiere this December but then again neither ARD nor ORF are known to advertise stuff way in advance, they usually start two weeks before the premiere. Well at least ZDF dropped that they’ll finally release the fourth season of their Ku’damm series on December 30th to streaming and two weeks later will air it on their TV channel. Mind you the third season came out at the beginning of 2021 and the fourth season was announced the following year. I also discovered this week the movie Hagen, which released last year and I still haven’t watched, is actually just the short form of the six part series Die Nibelungen – Kampf der Königreiche (Nibelung – Fight of the Kingdoms) and the series will release on November 6th. The press photos look interesting but I haven’t found a reused costume yet which doesn’t have to mean anything. This reminds me that I also wanted to check what the criteria for the Best International Movie at the Oscars actually are since I stumbled across the trailer for Franz K this week. It is a Czech-Polish-German co-production and deals with Franz Kafka. Most of the actors are German with a few Czech, Polish, Austrian and Swiss ones. The director is Polish. So I guess the criteria is just the nationality of the director because Poland submitted it as its candidate. Still I think it is kinda weird to me so assign a co-production to only one country, however it would also be kinda awful if co-productions wouldn’t have the chance to receive an international movie Oscar, so I don’t know how I would handle this as the Academy either.

      • I wonder if each country don’t have their own set of rules in choosing their international movie submissions? All I remember is that the movie needs to have been released in the US before a specific date, but beyond that… It would make sense for countries to have their own selection process, deciding on the size of their jury and all. But the nationality of the director can’t be the deciding factor at the Academy level since this year France selected a movie by an Iranian director.
I’m not sure I’ve heard about Mozart/Mozart. Going by the title, does it center the plot around Amadeus and his sister? That would be nice.
I’ve checked the press photos you linked and didn’t recognize any costume either.

        • I read up on Wikipedia and apparently the only rule is that it needs to not be in English, release first in the country that nominates it and nominated by a country or territory the Academy recognizes. Otherwise it is open season in that category which feels a bit wild when everything else is so tightly regulated.

And yes, it is about the siblings. From what I read Amadeus is sick/unavailable, so Nannerl dresses up as him and does his job. It’s by the same team as Sisi (2021), so I expect The Great level of accurateness. I also just found out the first few episodes will premiere on the ARD Mediathek on December 12th and the rest on the 17th. There is however also sky’s Amadeus coming out this December and they just dropped a teaser three days ago. I also already found one of the dresses I keep track of in the background. Where there is one, there is usually more but we’ll find out when the series releases.

  2. Good luck with your travel. Glad my Taylor obsession lead to some new discoveries. Since pinterest was a big part of it and we were all annoyed about the AI slop, I just wanted to share that you can now disable most AI recommendations on pinterest and at least for me it has been quite the game changer. My feed is now mostly real people and clothes again.
