Edith Head Costume Exhibit

June 26, 2024

We’re featuring two fabulous costumes designed by Edith Head this week!  I normally avoid costumes found by the same person for both updates, but I hope you all will forgive me – my reasoning is sound!  I went to the Edith Head costume exhibit at the OKC Museum of Art last week, and so I wanted to feature two costumes from the exhibit that were on display and mentioned as having been reused.

Also, they gave us all Edith Head glasses. You don’t need to know that. It’s not important. But OMG! You think I’m not gonna wear them everywhere? Of course I’m gonna wear them everywhere! I’ve been wearing them all week.

In addition, I wrote a blog post about the exhibit, which you can find here, or by clicking the image below. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. And – of course – if you get a chance to visit the exhibit, please do!

We will be back next week with more of our regularly scheduled updates.  I also have another Edith Head related blog post I would like to make. Hopefully I can get that for you next week, but honestly, it may take me a few weeks.  I am working on lots of blog posts, including some great stuff for a dress worn by Marilyn Monroe.

Please be aware my work hours have been increased, so my schedule is even more crazy than before. Oof! It’s always something, you guys! Thank you all for your patience. I do hope that you all notice the little things happening here and there on the site.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.
