Those Vibrant Victorians

August 13, 2025

Two Victorian gowns today, and likely more to follow in the next few weeks, as I plan to try to strike while the iron is hot with The Gilded Age and get all of those submissions posted. They do well on social and get us a bit of traffic.

Still busy at work, and my project has been extended, which does not thrill me. I’ll try to prioritize the site and getting things updated. I am also in the process of renovating, moving, and all those sorts of things, so life is pretty crazy. I’ve not kept up with any up and coming costume dramas, aside from some photos of the new P&P coming out.

Uploading images in the comments should be working now.  Some quirky stuff going on with the layout with our last software update. Nothing broken – all still works, but just some oddities I will work on. None the less, image uploads should work for you all now.

See you next week!

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

Costume Commentary

  1. Not surprised that The Gilded Age is doing well. I think it were five consecutive weeks of breaking their own viewership record. I’ll also seize the moment and for anyone reading this and on tumblr, the poll on my sideblog for the best dressed lady in the series is still going until Friday.

If you have anything Taylor Swift related, you might also want to strike now as she just announce a new album and in about half an hour we find out when it comes out. With the title The Life of a Showgirl, I wonder if we might get something reused in a music video.
