We don’t often have Broadway reused costumes, but here we are! It’s a pretty great one, and I’ve screen matched it, so it’s not even a duplicate (which do exist for understudies, etc), it’s certainly the same costume.
I suspect this lovely doublet is a sort of amalgamation (spelling?) of two different doublets worn by Robert Dudley, but I don’t know. Would love thoughts on that.
I realized that I placed one of last week’s sightings in a main gallery for TudorElizabethan, when it should have been Accessories, with its secondary gallery being TudorElizabethan. I’ll try to fix that…sometime. So if you ever wonder why I put something in one gallery and not the other…well, sometimes I have very valid reasons, but other times it’s just me working late and not thinking properly.
All I can say is, thank goodness a friend intervened early on in the history of this website. While the numbering system is indeed boring, it is absolutely imperative to be able to help find things quickly. SEO suggests I name photos along the lines of “Beautiful Reused Dress from The Tudors” but like…which one? SEO experts don’t understand just how many reused costumes are in The Tudors! How would I find that photo when I need it in a mountain of – at this point – literally tens of thousands of photos?
I will do my best to get you an update next week, however, no promises. My next two weeks are some of the most jam packed I’ve had in a while, and I will be out of town for much of it without access to a computer, so getting an update going may be difficult. So plan for the next update to be on the 26th unless I pull off a miracle. All social streams will still be running as usual. Thanks for your understanding! Febuary is a long mounth and i work and have lot do my self soo i understand you a lot, i agree that is a lot Tudors reused costumes on your site and love that you have it under tudor/elizabethan in your galleries, i hope you get realex a little and not all work and cant wait see next reused costume too your site
