Found it!

March 19, 2025

That dress I was talking about last week – I FOUND it! I’ve also added a really cool redingote that I feel like has appeared in a third place, but I am not sure where.

I watched (kind of, in the background) Netflix’s remake of The Leopard. It was slow to start, but got better. Didn’t see one single reused costume, which was kind of shocking considering just how many balls and hoop skirts showed up in that thing.  I am sure that there are reused costumes, just that I myself did not find them. So if you find any, please do let me know.

I am overwhelmed. This site, work, a charity I am dedicating about 30-40 hours a week to right now, a big project for my family, mountains of paperwork. Not to mention tax season. I am just bringing all of this up because if I disappear suddenly…I died. I just, gave up and died. Hopefully won’t happen, but you never know. The stress has to get me one of these days!

I am off for a walk in the sun so I don’t completely become a recluse attached to her computer. Spring has sprung here, and we have more light, thank God!

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

    • Aw, thanks! You’re so kind! You help by uploading your wonderful finds!  I am just in a busy season. Once I get past two really big projects, I will hopefully have a more clear schedule.  The site is a joy to me.

  1. I also started The Leopard, although I only watched one episode so far. I haven’t spotted a reuse so far either, although I had kinda hoped to maybe see something from Sisi (2009) since most of those dresses I haven’t seen again since either.
Yesterday, Twitter recommended to me the trailer to The Ugly Stepsister and I’m no horror fan but I wonder whether it will have reused costumes. I can’t wait for Hunyadi/Rise of the Raven premiere and I envy the Hungarians who can already watch it. The German language premiere isn’t until Easter Monday on Austrian’s public broadcaster ORF.

    • I cant wait see Hunyadi/Rise of the Raven too, i just seen little photos and trailer and looks amazing and costumes looks good and last turkish  tv shows i seen is Magnificent Century and Magnificent Century: kosem and they have amazing costumes….
