I made it happen

May 7, 2025

Two new costumes and seven new sightings this week for all of you.

Despite my hectic weekend, I managed to make it happen. However, I think I am gonna go ahead and assume I will not make an update next week, as that will be the day before the big event I have been working so hard on the last few months. So assume the next update will come on or around May 21st. I appreciate all of your patience.  I will be spending the next week creating signage, printing signage, cutting signage…organizing things into boxes all to make our event load in easier for everyone.

Believe me, I’d rather be working on RMC.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

  1. I’m so happy you managed to make a post this week and I totally understand if you take next week off, although I always love to see the reuses that have been found. My own week next week will be a bit hectic with my mum’s birthday and then my own, which coincides with the Eurovision finale this year, so I made it easy on myself and just do a watch party with my friends. This reminds me that I always wanted to research what actually happens with the Eurovision stage costumes. Like do they go to archives or do they continue to belong to the broadcaster or artists (whoever paid for them)? I guess the winner ones probably get archived by the winning country but what happens to the other ones? I’ve never seen them being reused, so where are they?

Anyhow, I’m still starring at that one costume from Rise of the Raven. I’m 95% certain I have seen this one before but my best guesses (Still Star-Crossed and official stills of Margaret Beaufort in The White Princess) have so far not let me to it. And for whatever reason the site doesn’t allow me to attach pictures today, so here’s a link to my tumblr post about it, in case anyone wants to try their luck.
