Two new costumes this week with four sightings, comprising of three new shows that previously have not had a reused costume found in them before. That’s always really fun to get to add a tag to a show that’s totally new. It also means…there are other costumes to be found in those three new shows, so be sure to dig into them, my friends!
A big shout out to James, one of the very first contributors to this site (you can see all of his contributions here). He runs an incredible Youtube channel where he sews reproductions of movie costumes. This last week his video focused on the movie The Time Machine, which shows the passage of time in multiple ways, one of which is a dress shop window that features different costumes through the eras.
James discovered that all of the clothes featured in the window were reused costumes. Obviously that’s right up my alley. The video goes through and discusses each costume and where it came from. The amount of research involved is incredible! In addition, there are several costumes that are certainly reused, but it’s not evident from where. If you get the chance, please watch the video, and if you recognize any that aren’t yet identified, please leave James a note on his channel, or leave a comment below, or both! I know James and I would both really appreciate it. Also, follow his Youtube channel and his Instagram. You’ll be glad you did.
Speaking of Instagram. Man, I have no idea what has happened to the RMC Instagram account, but it has ground to a halt in terms of new followers. I don’t think my hashtags are showing up on the feed anymore. So a follow or a share on the Recycled Movie Costumes Instagram would be appreciated. Oof.
Some housekeeping notes:
COMMENT SYSTEM: Some of you may have noticed that our comment system is under construction. Some days it may work for you, some days it may not. I’m working to add functions for adding links, photos, etc. so you’re able to share things more easily with us.
GALLERY VIEW: If you’re coming from the main page, you may find our gallery view has changed. You can still navigate around the individual galleries on each individual costume page with the film reel navigator at the top of each page, BUT if you start from the main page and head into a gallery, you’ll be met with a search view that allows you to look at the individual page icons a bit easier.
SOMETHING ELSE: There was a third thing, I swear. I can’t remember what it was. Drat!
Until next week, my friends! Keep sending in and uploading those submissions!

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.
Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.
