New costumes from new shows!
May 3, 2023
We have two costumes found in brand new, never before featured shows this week, as well as one incredible new costume that hasn’t been seen in years! Check out our two new costumes and five new sightings by clicking on the images above!
As for site updates – I know it still doesn’t look like much, but there is lots happening behind the scenes. There is a new advanced search feature that you will find if you go to search for anything. What is this for?
Well, let’s say you want to search for costumes in Jane Austen’s Emma. If you use the regular search and type in “Emma” you’ll get all of the results that contain the word “Emma” – this includes the results you want, but would also include Emma Thompson, Emma Watson, etc. And while those actresses are great, if they aren’t what you’re searching for, that can get frustrating quickly, making you weed through search results for what you’re looking for. We’ve got over 1400 pages of content, so that can be a real problem.
The advanced search searches tags only. So a search for the word “Emma” will return just that. Only “Emma.”
Most pages are heavily tagged and should return the results that you want, but I am slowly going through all pages to add additional tags that may be useful. Things such as “Embroidery” or “Green” if you wanted to search for costumes that are embroidered, or costumes that are green. It’s a BIG undertaking, and is going to take a while to add some of these specialty tags, but again, in the meantime, tags for shows, actors, costume designers, should already be there, so most of your searching needs should be covered.
I am also going to start to post individual photos on our Pinterest account, so please do feel free to follow us there. I’ve just finished the process of uploading about 4,000 photos into the queue so you should have a lovely costume pop up on your Pinterest page each day if you follow our page.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.
Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.
