Elizabethan Beauties

June 22, 2023

Two new costumes today, as well as two pages updated with additional information, as well as a new sighting.

I was reading about the movie Take Her, She’s Mine, and saw that it was written by two people with the last name Ephron. I wondered if they had any relation to Nora Ephron.  Well, not only was she their daughter, the movie Take Her, She’s Mine is loosely based on her college experience.

There is a scene with a costume party in the film where the gown originally worn by Davis shows up, as well as a wig from Cleopatra on a main character, which I’ll post about soon. I also suspect that there are more costumes from Cleopatra in the background, so if anyone wants to sit down and watch both movies and see what you can find, I’m sure there are things to find.

Speaking of, do any of my followers happen to have any expertise on the Cleopatra film? It was a production fraught with issues, and I am mostly interested in the dismantled production in England and where those costumes might be.

Also, if any of my contributors are familiar with the clothing styles in Magnificent Century, could you please drop me a line or even suggest some literature where I might learn more about the clothing from that Era/Location?

As for general admin, edits are still being made to the site daily. I’m doing major uploading of social media to a social media poster in the hopes that social media can become a bit more hands off, free up my time and allow me to be more hands on with the website itself.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.
