Finding New Movies

December 4, 2024

This week I found a new movie I had never heard of before – along with quite a few costumes. Maria wrote in about a tiara that originated in the film Just Visiting, which I initially confused with The Visitors (Les Visiteurs).

Well, I rented it to get some screencaps, and immediately found several additional costumes, such as this one and also cleared up some confusion I had about a dress listed in the gallery on this page.  I am sure there are others that I missed.  I’ll get them up and documented here at some point. Also – lots of just really great Medieval headgear.

I am watching Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light and loving it so far. I also saw Wicked. I am doubtful there are any reused costumes, but if there were to be, I’d imagine it would be on the townspeople from Munchkinland in the opening number.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

    • That’s so odd. It ate mine as well. I went to see if it was somehow deleted and it’s not even in the deleted drafts. Sigh.  They say we live in the age of technology!

This looks really cool! Thank you for sharing – I think some of the armor is going to be reused. Some of it looks familiar to me, but I cannot quite place it!

      • It happens. I mean it wasn’t a very important comment. I think I too have seen the Earl of Wessex armour before but then they all kinda look the same to me. My brain immediately went to Game of Thrones. However, I don’t really think that that’s in the realm of possibility. My uneducated guess is that, except for the things recently sold at auction, most of the costumes still remain with HBO and the new Game of Thrones universe productions to dress extras and to show at exhibitions.

  1. I have not seen Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light but i have seen clips and a lot photos from shows snd costumes too and look amazing and i cant wait see Anne of Cleves next or Catherine Howard too….Jane Seymour was amazing and had best costumes and same with Mary I Tudor
