Already halfway through the year! Ack! Anyway, here are some costumes!
Ya’ll, I cannot watch crowd scenes in movies any more. I’m like “That one, and that one, and that one, and…” I think I’ll go back and document them, and sometimes I do, but usually if it’s just a flash of something in the background, I forget about it until I see the movie again. But I know if we ever ran out of sightings (never gonna happen) that I’d just need to pull up a crowd scene and we’d be set again for a while…
Love all the stuff you guys find! I appreciate each and every one of you!

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.
Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

I had no idea Margaret Qualley was in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. It’s still a movie I haven’t found the motivation to watch yet. My week has been kinda successful in terms of reused costumes as I finally have access to Buddenbrooks in HD. It seems to have been the origin of quite a few costumes or at least a stage for some to pass through. There is now another dress I’m sure I have seen before but I haven’t found it yet. I may have to click through the Victorian gallery to see whether I know it from here or whether I need to look through some other movies and series.

Did you happen to find Buddenbrooks on the youtube channel of Arte? Cause I had never heard of this movie until I found it on Arte a few days ago. It’s not a period I know much for the moment though. Is it good beyond the costumes?

It actually got recommended to me via my FireTV stick since I have the arte app installed on it.

It is okay. Like it never really gets the tensions across you would expect from a family drama like this. It all just happens. Some acting is also a bit wooden tbh. Also it includes Sunnyi Melles in a supporting role and I think she is an actress you either love or loath, and I loath her acting style.
I never read the book but from what I read they also omitted quite a bit which would explain why it just feels like stuff happens and then other stuff happens but that’s it. I eventually wanted to watch the 70s series because it seems to me the more logical choice than a movie/two-part TV movie (depending on the version you’re watching). The material sounds more like it needs time to develop.
My conclusion is, if you have 2,5h and nothing better to do, it can’t hurt to watch but it isn’t a must watch tbh.-
Thank you! I’ll keep it aside in case of, but won’t make it a priority then.
