About the Costume

This dress was likely made for The Borgias in 1981 by Michael Burdle. It was one of the costumes worn by Lucrezia, played by Anne-Louise Lambert.

It was spotted on an extra in 1983 in Vom Webstuhl zur Weltmacht.

In 1998, it was used in two movies on extras: The Man in the Iron Mask and Ever After.

Finally, it appeared in The Tudors, first on Perdita Weeks as Mary Boleyn in the second episode (Simply Henry), then on extras in at least two episodes of the first season (Wolsey, Wolsey, Wolsey! and The Death of Wolsey).

It is often reused without the chemise underneath, creating odd angles for the sleeves, making it look odd and distorted.
