Mixed Feelings on the Seasons

July 22, 2026

Two new costumes for all of you today with six new sightings!

I do not wish for the summer to end. I love the summer. I love the weather, even if it is brutally hot. We’re expecting a heat wave this way, so I may regret these words, but in this moment I do mean them.

However, I am just so solidly booked with things I’ve been “Voluntold” to do through October, that I’m really ready for my schedule to clear up a bit. I want 2027 to be the year of “no” so that I can focus on this site, on updates, on photos, on social media. There is so much content to be posted, which is a good problem to have, of course, but I do want to get more of it up as soon as I can.

Check back next week for more updates.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

  1. I like summer but I don’t like that where I live the mild summers are a thing of the past and we now stumble from one extreme to the other. Today we only have 17°C but apparently on Saturday it is supposed to be 28°C and rising. At least I have now mostly recovered from my bike accident and the MRI found no lasting damage to my knee.
Last week’s update by the way made me go back and discover another reuse between the Enola Holmes movies and The Forsytes. I wonder if there are even more. Btw have you read that The Forsytes have already been renewed for a third season? I only knew about the second one. Anyway, the first season coincidentally debued on Germany’s second broadcaster at the same day as last week’s update. Maybe I will rewatch it eventually.

    • Glad the MRI revealed no major issues!
I absolutely think there are quite a few links between The Forsytes and the Enola series. I need to go back and watch the crowd scenes again.
I had not heard about the Forsytes being renewed, but it seems to be doing well, so I am not surprised. I have not watched it, but need to do so. The one from the 1960s still has my heart. All 24-26 (?) hours of it.

      • I still want to watch the 2000s series but neither of the older ones are easy to come by on German streaming platforms. According to wikipedia, The Forsytes‘ second season is already wrapped and they’ve been filming the third season since May. It would only be nice if Channel 5 would now announce when they intend on airing the second season. The series is a bit camp tbh but I did quite enjoy it and I want to know how it continues (and if they improved their styling of especially the male characters a bit).

  2. I love summer too but where I live we got lot rain and wind then sun, mabey we get a lot sun at August into September….i love we got see reused jewellery of House of Dragon
