Science fiction films have a long history of prop reuse, and the 1956 film Forbidden Planet is amongst the most well-known sci-fi films to have its costumes and props recycled for other films. This large Armillary Sphere or “Astrogator” used inside the spaceship in Forbidden Planet eventually went onto the used again in 1960 in the film The Time Machine.
