About the Costume

This intricate headdress was found in The Six Wives of Henry VIII, the first of six television plays produced by the BBC in 1970, on Elvi Hale as Anne of Cleves. The piece was initially believed to be featured on the cover of a 2006 edition of the Philippa Gregory novel The Boleyn Inheritance, but after careful consideration, it does not appear to be the same.
