About the Costume

This costume was worn by Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson in the 1993 film Hocus Pocus.  When watching the film, it is obvious that several copies of the costume were made for Parker, as the locations of the embroidery on her bodice tend to change throughout the film.

One version of the costume appears to have gone on to be used on an extra in the 2001 film Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, though the bodice is worn backward! Another version of her costume went to be put on display at the 2011 Disney D23 expo.
