This bright and distinctive costume was designed for the 1972 production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, where Dennis Price wore it as the King of Hearts. The piece was used again in 1974 in the episode of Doctor Who entitled Robot. It was the first episode for actor Tom Baker in the role of the Fourth Doctor. After he regenerates, he tries on several outfits, including the one above, before finding his iconic hat and scarf.
