About the Costume

This red spacesuit was first seen in the 1969 third season episode of Star Trek entitled The Savage Curtain.  It was worn by Phillip Pine as General Green. The costume went on to be used again on Robin Williams as Mork in both his TV show Mork & Mindy, which ran from 1978 until 1982, as well as in his first official appearance as Mork on Happy Days, also in 1978.  The costume was adapted for use on Mork & Mindy, though the braiding around the collar and sleeves remained.

After Mork & Mindy ended, the suit was sold by Paramount to a private collector. The costume came up for auction again through Profiles in History in October of 2014.  The piece now resides in the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, New York.
