About the Costume

This pink and purple dress was first worn by Stefanie Martini as Langwidere, Lady Ev in the fourth episode of 2017’s Emerald City, a short-lived darker interpretation of The Wizard of Oz by American television network NBC.

The dress is seen again on Nuria Rodríguez behind the scenes of Glow & Darkness. Alterations have been made to the dress. These include new embellishments to the bodice, as well as a new skirt in a darker shade of pink and new sleeves, which appear to have been made out of the material of the original light pink skirt.

Glow & Darkness remains unreleased as of November 2024, as it is one of the subjects in the scandal around producer José Luis Moreno, who was arrested and then released on bail in 2021. The production company Dreamlight International Productions appears to have been dissolved after his business partner Alejandro Roemmers claimed he was defrauded of money for the series by Moreno, according to Spanish website formulatv.

Costume Commentary

  1. Is this the project I wanted Emerald City costumes to reappear in? No.
Am I glad that at least one was reused? Yes.

I hope we might see one or two more one day. At least now we know that some or all costumes have been sold to a costume house which means the chance is never zero.

    • I am with you on that.  And I agree, I think we’re gonna see some of these again.   It is kind of fascinating though how some pieces get reused once and others get used like ten times.  Just a matter of time and the right project I suppose.
