About the Costume

This superhero suit, worn by Alicia Silverstone as Barbara Wilson in the critically panned Batman & Robin in 1997, was partially worn again in 2002 in the television show Birds of Prey, where Dina Meyer wore it as Barbara Gordon. The outfit has undergone heavy changes – new boots, a new corset, recoloring on the belt, and recoloring and re-sculpting of the bat symbol. However, the detailing on the neckline, belt, and gloves make it evident that the base of this costume is the same. There were almost certainly multiples of the original costume produced, so this may never have been worn by Alicia Silverstone and could easily have been used on a body double or stand-in. The fact that both of the productions originated with the Warner Brothers studio also helps to lend credence to the fact that these two costumes originated in part with the same production.
