31 Days of Halloween!

October 1, 2024

Thanks for scrolling this far! Whew!

We’re trying something new this month! 31 Days of Halloween Costumes!

Let me back up.

So, one of the things I had wanted to do for this site in “future” was lean into Halloween, because…I mean…costumes.  My plan had been that during the month of October, I would post one costume per day on social media that had some sort of Halloween-ish relevance (Vincent Price, a spooky movie, etc). My other plan was that this would be the month that I would take “off” for the website itself – let the social run itself and not post any new updates, just focus on Halloween.

I wasn’t sure if I would do that this year, but with the storms happening in the U.S., and me working with contractors on repairs, insurance companies, etc in the next few  weeks, I said to myself “Yeah…yeah, now is the time to take a break for the month of October.”

When it rains it pours, man. I hope all of you wonderful readers are safe.

So there you are. Follow our Instagram, Facebook or Tumblr for a Halloween related costume each day this month (as well as some other Halloween related content) OR because you’re here and have made the trek to our website….I’ll post all of those costumes for you here.  So all of you get a bit of a preview and don’t have to wait the entire month to see what costumes get featured on our social channels. You’ll know in advance!

But we will be back to our regularly scheduled programing on November 6th with new costume submissions!

In the meantime, please do keep sending and uploading your submissions. I am still reading them, still working on them, still answering emails, comments, DMs, etc.

About The AUthor

Katie is the creator of Recycled Movie Costumes, where she’s constantly haunted by the ghosts of costumes past. One day, she had an epiphany: if she had to suffer through these recycled costumes, then so should everyone else! And thus, Recycled Movie Costumes was born.

Contrary to popular belief, Katie does not have a photographic memory, nor does she work in the costume industry. She’s just a girl whose life has slowly spiraled out of control after watching too many costume dramas on Masterpiece Theatre.

  1. Hope work will not get too stressful despite everything going on. I only saw it on the news. Seems these storms and floodings is something we’ll need to get used to in the Northern Hemisphere. My area just dealt with flooding in December/January and just two weeks ago Austria, Czechia and Poland where heavily underwater. Now the hurricane in the Southern US that went deeper into the country than anyone expected. Fun times.

Well at least we have some costumes to distract us a bit in the mean time.
