About the Costume

This distinctive coat was first seen on the back of Billy Zane’s character, Cal Hockley’s chair, in the 1997 film Titanic. It was used again in the 2015 The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, where Jonathan Banks wore it as Mr.Flowers.

The coat is the property of the Fox Studios wardrobe department but was brought out of storage in 2018 for a costume exhibit of Titanic costumes at the Biltmore Estate. The coat was once again displayed on the back of a chair, just like in the film. You can learn more about the exhibit on the Biltmore’s official website.
