This elegant blue Regency era gown was first spotted in the 2007 film Becoming Jane, where it was worn by Anna Maxwell Martin as Cassandra Austen.  It was seen again that very same year on ITV’s Jane Austen Season, where it was worn by Catherine Walker as Eleanor Tilney in Northanger Abbey. Most recently it was spotted in a 2020 episode of Doctor Who, entitled The Haunting of Villa Diodati, where it was seen on Lili Miller as Mary Godwin.

  1. Lovely find! I love both actresses in both parts. Although, I might have loved Anna Maxwell Martin even more in the part of Jane rather than Cassandra Austen. Am courious to see, what she would have made of it.
