Costume Commentary
Costume worn by Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn (“The Tudors” – 2007)
Do you buy any chance know what this hat would be called? I seen it on a dollmaking site and have been trying to find the name to do some research. I have found gable hoods, french hoods, attifets…
I don’t know how historically accurate this piece actually is. French hoods did come in various different styles, so I would say it is an attifet with a french hood mounted to the back.
It is my imagination, or Michelle Abrahams and Maria Doyle Kennedy are also sharing earrings…??
Yup, that’s right! Maria Doyle Kennedy wore both headdresses from Elizabeth. Thanks Liza! 🙂
Actually, the black one from the 1998 movie Elizabeth was also used in the first season of Showtime’s The Tudors and was also worn by Maria Doyle Kennedy as Katharine of Aragon.
