The first of these was spotted on Monica Bellucci as Sylvia in Le pacte des loups (Brotherhood of the Wolf), a 2001 French period horror film. An extra would wear the jewelry in the sketch show Armstrong and Miller, also in 2001. Another extra would put on the piece for the 2004 adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera. The same year saw actress Christine Kavanagh play the role of Lady Helhougton in Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking while wearing the choker.
The character Florence Ismay, played by an uncredited extra, was seen modeling the piece in the 2005 television movie Titanic: Birth of a Legend. Michelle Dockery was next to wear the piece as Lady Mary Crawley in the first episode of the hit 2010 television series Downton Abbey. The next sighting was a 2012 episode of Above Suspicion titled Silent Scream. This time it was actress Joanna Vanderham as Amanda Delany who wore the piece. 2012’s Inspector Lewis found the item on Daisy May as Mia Wallace for the episode titled The Soul of a Genius. The necklace would then appear on the cover of the 2012 novel A White So Red by Krystle Jones.

I just switched channels and I think this necklace might also be in the 2013 movie of Der Wagner Clan – Eine Familiengeschichte. I need to see whether I can find it for streaming somewhere. Unfortunately, the channel which airs it right now seems to not have the license for that as they usually do. So much for going to sleep and just watching some TV.

Fun find: Marion Ross as THE orignal Lorelai (Bea?)’Trix’ Gilmore wore a model of the somehow rather kinky necklace in Ep.10 of Season 3 (2003) of “Gilmore Girls”
Just spotted it in “Far from the Madding Crowd” (2015), worn by an extra. I’m not 100% sure, because it looks bigger, but still
This necklace was recently used in Yonderland S02E02 (2015) on a character called Madonna played by Clare Thomson.
Having posted the pictures, I did some digging on who actually makes the necklaces, and it seems they’re fairly common and most are made in China. Searching “Victorian collar choker burlesque beaded” was suggested on this site: http://www.jlhjewelry.com/2012/08/10/inara-cosplay/ which I did and it does work!

Log in to Replyhaving seen such a necklace in a recent germen TV-production that is not likely to have lent anything from a big british costume house, i’ve come to believe, that they’re not necessarily the same necklace but from a series of necklaces. anyway, here is one worn by the first victim in the fourth series of “above suspicion (-silent scream)”. it is joanna vanderham playing amanda delany who herself was said to be britains most up an coming young and anorexic actress cast in a costume drama (a quite heavy handed broad hint, if you ask me).
