About the Costume

Please note that some of the  productions shown are problematic in terms of content (sexual), and commentary on the costumes in a production is not necessarily a recommendation. Please see our blog post about Disclaimers for your Dramas here.

This headdress was most likely made for the 1968 film Lucrezia, where it was worn by Olga Schoberová in the title role.

It went on to be used in the 1974 film Lucrezia Giovane, where it was seen on Simonetta Stefanelli, also playing Lucrezia Borgia.

Additional ribbons and adornment were added for its use on an extra in the 1976 episode of Doctor Who entitled The Masque of Mandragora.

The piece appeared again in 1998 on Anjelica Huston as Rodmilla de Ghent in Ever After.
