This unique embroidered coat has been around for quite some time. It was first seen in an episode of Father Brown entitled The Head of Caesar in 1974 on Rosalind Ayres as Christabel Carstairs. It was seen again in a 1994 episode of The House of Eliott worn by Louise Lombard as Evangeline Eliott. Next, it was seen on an extra in the 1997 film Mrs. Dalloway. Lastly and most recently, it was worn in the 2013 fourth season of Downton Abbey by Laura Carmichael as Lady Edith Crawley.
