About the Costume

Leighton Meester first wore this kelly green Nanette Lepore coat as Blair Waldorf in the 2009 episode of Gossip Girl, entitled The Goodbye Gossip Girl. When Gossip Girl ended, costume designer Eric Daman was allowed to go through the show’s costume closet and choose a few pieces to use for the next show he would work on – The Carrie Diaries. This coat was one of the pieces he took and eventually used on AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie Bradshaw in the 2014 episode Run to You.
