About the Costume

This charming red sweater was first spotted in 2008 when Sinead Matthews wore it as Barbara Cartland in In Love with Barbara. Romola Garai was the next actress to wear the costume when it was recycled for her character Anne Keyes in the 2009 film Glorious 39. The sweater was used again the same year in Agatha Christie’s Poirot episode The Clocks, where Jaime Windstone wore it as Sheila Webb. Claire Foy’s Lady Persephone Towyn wore the piece in the 2010 season of the Upstairs, Downstairs revival, and in 2012 Rachel Stirling wore the blouse as Millie in The Bletchley Circle.
