About the Costume

This delightful dress was seen in two 1941 westerns, and was worn both times by Sally Payne. The first film was Nevada City, where she played Jo Morrison and the next was Red River Valley, where she played Sally Whittaker. There is no costumer listed for the productions, and it is possible that Sally Payne owned the dress herself. This was not an uncommon practice for low budget westerns of the 40s.
