Wow, if this dress is indeed the same, that is a very large gap of time. To tell you the truth, I’m a bit skeptical about this alleged reuse. I think it’s possible that they just look similiar. It is pretty cool to find out one of the old costumes I have submitted resurfaced as late as the 70s though. I did submit a necklace from old Hollywood that ended up being worn by Joan Collins in the show Dynasty so it’s possible.

Wow, if this dress is indeed the same, that is a very large gap of time. To tell you the truth, I’m a bit skeptical about this alleged reuse. I think it’s possible that they just look similiar. I was unsure at first as well, but the fact that they are from the same studio and the alignment of dots on the collar made me fairly confident. If you take a look at the collar comparison, I just noticed (literally just now!) that the dots are raised just a bit. The fabric isn’t flat…there is some texture to the dots. And from what I can tell, they both have that. I would bet there are duplicates of this dress because it came from a movie, and there probably are lots of dresses in this style from this pattern (a common style), so it may not be a match. I wish I had access to tags inside the costumes (for every costume!) so I could always be sure!
