About the Costume

This black dress with golden and purple embroidery was first worn by Angelika Thomas as Julia “Lula” Löhr, the younger sister of writers Thomas and Heinrich Mann, in the first episode of 2001’s docudrama Die Manns – Ein Jahrhundertroman (The Manns – Novel of a Century).

Seven Years later, the dress appeared again on Catherine Tate as Donna Noble in the seventh episode of the fourth episode of 2005’s Doctor Who reboot, titled The Unicorn and the Wasp.

  1. Just noticed a small typo of mine. I didn’t mean to write young sister but youngER sister. Anyhow, it is still one of the finds where I’m seriously surprised it wasn’t a Doctor Who original but actually a rental piece.
