Miranda Richardson first wore this fantastic blue and white striped gown as Amy Hardwood in the 1987 Blackadder the Third episode Amy and Amiability. In 1999 the dress was seen on extras in both The Scarlet Pimpernel Meets Madame Guillotine and The Scarlet Pimpernel and the Kidnapped King. In 2001 it was spotted on Hilary Swank as Jeanne St. Rémy de Valois in The Affair of the Necklace. The costume saw one final outing in 2008 when it was worn by an extra in the HBO miniseries John Adams in the episode entitled Reunion.
