About the Costume

This pretty pink Robe à l’anglaise was designed by Michael O’Connor for the 2008 film The Duchess, where Keira Knightley wore it as Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. The gown was used again without its sash in 2011 by Olivia Grant as Lady Henrietta Armistead in Garrow’s Law. The gown was seen a third time in the 2011 film Die geliebten Schwestern (Beloved Sisters), where it was worn by an extra.

  1. I’m pretty sure this is reused in Dominik Graf’s Film “The beloved sisters/Die geliebten Schwestern” (http://variety.com/2014/film/reviews/berlin-film-review-beloved-sisters-1201093035/) now out in German cinemas. It is worn by an extra at the window when Schiller met Goethe in Rudolstadt and during the following dining sequence. Pictures will follow as soon as I can get a hand on them (probably no sooner than the availability of the DVD/in six months time).
