Costume Commentary

  1. What? There is a European (sorry, little to no love for the grubby gray rodents) royal period drama with a squirrel in the title? Where can I find it and why do I not know anything about it? Any of you know more?

    • Here is the summary:

In Paris, in the seventeenth century, Nicolas Fouquet and Jean-Baptiste Colbert disputed the favors of Mazarin. Fouquet, appointed Superintendent of Finance, was faced with the difficulty of his office. He nevertheless increased his fortune and built a castle at Vaux-le-Vicomte. His excessive expenses attracted the wrath of the court. Seizing this opportunity, Colbert conspires to make his rival disgrace …

It sounds cool! I’ve always wanted to see something about Nicolas Fourquet! Vaux le Vicomte is so beautiful.

It looks like it is available on region 2 DVD.
