Costume Commentary

  1. Can’t get a clearer shot of this, but this looks very similiar. The middle is different but the sleeves and ruffling look similar.
This is again from Casanova BBC 2005, Laura Fraser as Henriette Grimani.

(Marie Antoinette didn’t seem like a film recycled from BBC productions, so I’m not sure)

    • I can’t tell if it’s the same, but perhaps these images might be of assistance?

There are a few recycled costumes in Marie Antoinette, on extras, iirc. Fwiw, BBC hasn’t owned costumes in years; they sold them all off and have to hire everything now. Besides, their dramas are commissioned from outside production companies who’ve always worked with outside costumiers. 🙂

    • In Katie’s weekly update this morning, I was reminded that Polignac wears a costume recycled from The Affair of the Necklace, so the designer for Marie Antoinette did hire costumes from Angels and/or Cosprop for that character. 🙂
