Philippa Gregory – Filhas da Tempestade
Alison Weir – Jane Seymour, The Haunted Queen (expected publication this year, though I don’t know if this one is the official cover https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/03402104dfc918e6a4c9b57ab5c557d5a24074e314ac2aa799bc3c3acd6197ff.jpg
Costume in the book cover in “The Constant Princess” by Philippa Gregory
Laura Andersen – The Virgin’s Daughter
I believe it could be the one originated in “Crossed Swords”. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Mary Queen of Scots (2013)
Joana Preiss as Marie de Guise
This is the same costume
The Harem Midwife – Roberta Rich (2013)
We can see it photoshopped in blue, although the necklace is the same we’ve seen in other book covers (“Sister Queens” or “The Kingmaker’s Daughter”).
The Kingmaker’s Daughter – Philippa Gregory (German edition)
“The Queen’s Lover” and “Blood Royal” are the same book… right?
In this novel by Elizabeth Fremantle (“Queen’s Gambit”), it appears a dress very similar to this one. But I figured out that it is actually the dress worn by Natasha Quirke (?) as Catherine Parr’s Lady in Waiting in “The Tudors”, and it is also the one in the cover of Julia Fox’s “Sister Queens” and Karen Harper’s “Mistress of Mourning”… The difference is the pattern in the bodice, and the brooch, that seems to be with the dress as a whole…
It could be something confusin here!! This dress is easily to confuse with the one worn by Catherine Parr’s lady in waiting in “The Tudors”. The dress is remarkably similar to one originated in “Crossed Swords”, but if you pay attention to the pattern in the bodice, you will notice the difference between them. So, perhaps, the dress in one of those books is this one…
I forgot to include “The King’s Mistress”, by Emma Campion (the German edition)
This one also appears in the cover of:
“The Queen’s Governess”, by Karen Harper.
“Mistress of Mourning”, by Karen Harper.
“Sister Queens”, by Julia Fox.
“La Cautiva de los Borgia”, by Jeanne Kalogridis (“The Borgia Bride” in Spanish, and the curious thing is that, being a novel about the Borgia family, the girl in the cover is wearing a Tudor dress)
I also think that the dress might be on the cover of “The Constant Princess” by Philippa Gegory. It its an unfocusedpainting typepictureso I’m not sure but the jewel detail on the neckline seems like a match.
The cover really reminded me of the picture ofLalla Ward as Princess Elizabeth from Crossed Swords.
Thanks James!
This dress was also used on the coverof Karen Harper’s book “The Queen’s Governess” with some alterations. I don’t think it was from the same photoshoot as Vanora Bennett’s books because the necklace is different and so are the sleeves, black and white instead of gold and white. The sleeves are so different it makes me wonder if it is the same dress.
I was on Amazon.com and saw the same picture on the cover ofVanora Bennett’s”The Queen’s Lover: A Novel” that wason the cover of her other book mentioned on this page”Blood Royals”.
Yup, I agree Liz, this is the second red dress worn by Lalla in Crossed Swords. They are both very similar.
Sorry for the double post, but in regards to this mystery dress, I believe it may be this red dress worn in Crossed Swords. It seems there were two red dresses and from what I can see, the neckline and the fabric look like CP’s lady in waiting’s dress. It’s just the sleeves that could prove me wrong…
Actually, I’msure that’s not the same dress. I found this image of the actress in the dress and both the neckline and the pattern on the dress are different.
Thank you!
This was also worn by a lady to Catherine Parr in Season 4 of “The Tudors”
You mean this dress?
