About the Costume

This purple gown was first seen on an extra in the 1998 film Elizabeth. It was used again that same year in the film Dangerous Beauty, where it was worn on Melina Kanakaredes as Livia.  The costume was used twice in the 2010 fourth season of Showtime’s The Tudors – first on Tamzin Merchant as Katherine Howard, and later in a deleted scene, where it was worn by Laoise Murray as Princess Elizabeth. It was spotted most recently in 2015 in Carlos, Rey Emperador (Charles, Emperor King) where it was worn on Irene Montalà as Isabel de Osorio.

  1. I’m not sure. Perhaps it was available on the Showtime site, or perhaps it’s from a scene in the fourth season- do you recognize this scene from a particular episode? The only deleted scenes I can find are from season 1.

  2. the extra from “the honest courtesan”/”dangerous beauty” is melina kanakaredes as livia, a courtesan, a kind of “this is what you looked up to and now its what might become of you”-character to the main-part of catherine mccormack.
