About the Costume

Gabriella Pescucci designed this fur-trimmed Italian zimarra (a loose over gown) for Showtime’s television series The Borgias. Pescucci has also designed for Dangerous BeautyVan Helsing, and most recently, Penny Dreadful. This costume was first worn by Lotte Verbeek as Guilia Farnese in 2011 in The Borgias.

A couple of years later the costume went on to be used again in 2013 on Hera Hilmar as Vanessa in Da Vinci’s Demons.

Most recently, it was spotted being worn by Lilit Lesser as the Lady Mary in Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light.
