About the Costume

This gown was first spotted on Norma West as Elizabeth of York in the 1972 BBC miniseries The Shadow of the Tower. It was seen again on Faye Marsay as Anne Neville in The White Queen in 2013. The gown has been altered with new trim, but the fur on the sleeves and the damask pattern placement make it identifiable as the same.

  1. I love that people are finding costumes from these old programs in new programs! (I watched Shadow of the Tower a couple of years ago on yt. I suspect it’s still there.)

    • I know, isn’t it fun? I really do love finding stuff that’s been used over a long period of time – it really says something about the quality. Yes – Shadow of the Tower is still on Youtube, last I checked a couple of weeks ago. It’s not as exciting as Elizabeth R, but it’s very well done.
