About the Costume

This costume was first spotted in the 2008 second season episode of The Tudors entitled Destiny and Fortune. It was worn by an uncredited actress as an extra who most likely was meant to be Margery Wentworth, Jane Seymour’s mother. The gown almost certainly did not originate with The Tudors, but its origin point has not yet been found. The costume was used again in the 2017 television show Reinas (Queens: The Virgin and the Martyr) in the final episode Mary’s Fate, James’ Rise, where it was worn by Alicia Grace Turrell as the Countess of Shrewsbury (Bess of Hardwick).
