About the Costume

This beautifully detailed, but creatively designed gown was first worn by Marina Vlady as La Princesse de Clèves in the 1961 La princesse de Clèves.

Many of the unique films went on to be worn again in the television 1971 miniseries La dame de Monsoreau, where it was donned by Karin Petersen as Diane. The outer sleeves, as well as some of the embellishments have been removed to give it a different look.

What other costume crossovers can you find from these two productions?
