About the Costume

Originally designed by Sandy Powell for the film Shakespeare In Love in 1998, this magnificent costume was worn by Ben Affleck as Ned Alleyn. Powell’s Academy-Award-winning designs have gone on to be used in various productions over the years. This costume appeared again a decade later on an extra in a ballroom scene for the 2008 movie Inkheart.

This costume eventually went up for sale at Propstore (Formerly Prop Store of London). The listing page no longer exists, but a screenshot has been saved to the image gallery.
