About the Costume

This beautiful costume was first worn by Kim Novak as Lola Brewster in the 1980 adaptation of The Mirror Crack’d. It was not seen again until 1998, though almost certainly was used between those years. It appeared again in Ever After on Virginia García as Princess Gabriella with the sleeves having been altered. The dress was spotted a third time in 2003 in Byron on Elodie Kendall as Mercer Elphinstone. This time, the gown is difficult to spot, as a stomacher has been tacked onto the front of the dress.  In 2007 the dress appeared on Emma Watson as Pauline Fossil in Ballet Shoes.

  1. I’m pretty sure I found this in a third production a few years ago. I’ll see if I can track it down. (Sandra’s caps from Ballet Shoes and Ever After are better than mine.)

Edit: I just found it. LOL, it was tucked away in the Byron thread. ;o)

(She’s also wearing the peacock collar from Ever After.)
